Be honest

When writing down the story of your life it's often tempting to exaggerate a little. Contrary to what some people will tell you, there is not a ‘fine line' between emphasis and embellishment - there is a huge difference! Everyone wants to put the emphasis on their most impressive achievements and phrase those achievements in the way that sounds most impressive, but fabrication is a different matter. Make sure that everything in your résumé is truthful - even tiny little white lies can catch you out, and it'd be a shame to ruin a perfectly good job application because of something that no-one would have missed if it hadn't been there.
